Whitburn’s Jacko has got soul as he hosts Taylor fundraiser
Get your funk on for a special soul night in honour of little Taylor Johnson who needs £12,000 for sight-saving stem cell treatment.
Soul Night, at Whitburn Juniors Social Club, is being organised by Sandy ‘Jacko’ Jack of Coyotes West Lothian Scooter Club. As s1whitburn reported earlier this year, generous Sandy is a well-known member of the community and has worked tirelessly to fundraise for two-year-old Taylor's Fight 4 Sight campaign. In April, he helped organise T in the Clachan, which raised over £600 for the cause, and this weekend, he will host Soul Night.
He told s1whitburn: “The wee girl needs vital stem cell treatment only received in China. Let’s do it for someone so young, with young parents who are local. The quicker we get to the total needed now, the quicker she can get her treatment.
“Last year, people turned up to Soul Night in the welfare before it burned down. It was for a local lad and a wee English girl and we raised £1,000.”
This year’s event will include live music and DJ sets from local artists, dancing, a raffle and more. Sandy urged people to pop along and lend their support. He said: “If we get a full house and everybody buys a ticket, we could raise £1,000 on Friday
“All soul fans, please help this girl and if you’re not a soulie, what better way to find out what it’s all about? Please come and support me and support Taylor’s fight.”
Soul Night is on Friday, June 15 from 7.30pm-10.30pm. Entry is £3 on the door. Sandy is still looking for raffle prizes so if you have any donations, please hand them in to the club.
